English page PvdA Den Haag

This is the English website of the Dutch Labour Party in The Hague, in the Netherlands known as Partij van de Arbeid (the PvdA).

In The Hague Municipal Council 10 of the 45 members are members of the PvdA. Members of the Council are elected by the population of The Hague every four years.

After the municipal elections the Municipal Council (Gemeenteraad) appoints the aldermen (wethouders) based on the number of representatives elected from each party. Together with the Mayor, the aldermen make up the Municipal Executive (College van B&W). The Municipal Executive is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the city, on the basis of a joint four-year policy program. In The Hague three aldermen are members of the PvdA: Marnix Norder, Rabin Baldewsingh and Henk Kool.
