GET OUT TO VOTE!
The elections for your City Council are coming up!
On Wednesday March 3, 2010 you can vote for your political party of choice.
This is why you should vote PvdA:
The Dutch Labour Party, PvdA, stands for an undivided The Hague where everybody counts. Citizens should take an active part in society. Our main focus is on employment, employability and equal opportunities. For those who cannot work or provide for themselves we offer support. We take pride in our international city of justice and peace and are pleased to accommodate so many expatriates here. For all our citizens, permanent and temporary, we want our city to be safe, clean and green, provide good, affordable housing, schools and healthcare facilities. In order to do so we need a solid, prosperous economy.

This is the English website of the Dutch Labour Party in The Hague, in the Netherlands known as Partij van de Arbeid (the PvdA).
In The Hague Municipal Council 15 of the 45 members are members of the PvdA. Members of the Council are elected by the population of The Hague every four years.
After the municipal elections the Municipal Council (Gemeenteraad) appoints the aldermen (wethouders) based on the number of representatives elected from each party. Together with the Mayor, the aldermen make up the Municipal Executive (College van B&W). The Municipal Executive is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the city, on the basis of a joint four-year policy program. In The Hague four aldermen are members of the PvdA: Marnix Norder, Rabin Baldewsingh, Henk Kool en Marieke Bolle.
